2013 President’s/Leukemia Cup – September 7-8

This is one regatta with two goals: 1) to continue the long tradition of competitive one-design racing started by the President’s Cup in 1934 and 2) to raise funds to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s work to find effective treatments of blood related cancers.  The regatta will be sailed on the Potomac River on two courses.  Some classes will sail for one day and others for two days. Before the race weekend, sailors are encourage to raise donations from family, friends, and colleagues and to make a donation themselves. Boats that raise the $100 minimum prior to the regatta are eligible for an award for racing Saturday.  Boats that raise this $100 minimum by August 17 are eligible to have the boat/team name printed on the regatta t-shirt.  Boats that raise more than the $100 minimum are eligible for additional prizes. Please email your PRSA Liaison to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Aaron Boesenecker, with any questions.

The pre-registration page will be available shortly.  If you wish to raise funds for the LLS you will be given this option on the pre-registration form.  Indicating “yes” to this question will generate an online fundraising page for your boat.  You will receive an email notification from Briana Walsh, LLS Campaign Manager for the National Capital Area Leukemia Cup Regatta, once your fundraising page is ready.
