Hey everyone, our big regatta of the year the President’s/Leukemia Cup is this coming weekend! Here is the NOR. Here is the PRSA on-line Registration Form. See who is coming.
Hope we have good weather and a good turnout. If you’re planning on raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and racing in the regatta here is a quick check list of what you need to do:
1) Register to raise money with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
2) Register your boat on the PRSA Web site.
3) Send an email to Loree Libstein and ask for a Fund Raising Web site.
4) Have your friends and family donate money through your web site. If you raise over $100 you will get T-shirts and admission to the Saturday after-racing party.
Leukemia Cup events begin the week of September 7:
Wednesday, September 9th: Raffle Drawing
Cantina Marina, Washington DC
6-8pm (8:00 pm drawing)
Join the LLS staff and Leukemia Cup committee for a fun happy hour and see who this year’s lucky winners are! There will be the opportunity to sell a few last raffle tickets to patrons of the bar (drink special for anyone showing the stub of a ticket they purchased!) and to drop off any tickets you have sold and didn’t have the chance to get to the office. All are welcome!
Friday, September 11th: Regatta Weekend Kick Off!
Washington Sailing Marina, Alexandria VA
6-8pm
Join us to turn in your fundraising money early, collect your incentive prizes, enjoy a delicious dinner from Outback Steakhouse and hear sailing legend Gary Jobson address the crowd! Entrance for all fundraisers and sponsors is free. $10 donation collected at the door for dinner for any others who wish to join in this fun event!
Saturday, September 12th: 16th Annual Leukemia Cup Regatta Races & Post-Race Party
Washington Sailing Marina, Alexandria VA
10:30 am – 3:00 pm – Races on the Potomac — 3 Spectator Cruises available – see attached flyer for details. Admission is $10/person.
3:30pm – Post Race Party Begins
Party tickets are awarded to fundraisers. Others are able to purchase tickets at $10/ticket at the door. Party includes live band, dinner, drinks, silent auction, fundraising and race awards and general merriment.
