Finally, we are still seeking nominations for some vacant and soon-to-be Vacant PRSA Executive Committee Positions.  I’m pleased to announce that we have one nominee for the Secretary position.  If you are interested in serving as Vice Commodore or Treasurer (or Secretary), please let us know.  Nabeel, currently serving as Treasurer, has offered to move over to Vice Commodore if we find somebody to serve as Treasurer.  You can read the position descriptions in Article IV of our PRSA Bylaws at https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hTChVfws3VvGSUgKhIOBLU5gaqIOs2Xr/view?usp=sharing.

Call for Executive Committee Officer Nominations

PRSA Sailors,

We are seeking nominations for vacant and soon-to-be vacant Executive Committee positions.  Specifically, Vice Commodore and Secretary.  You can read the position descriptions in Article IV of our PRSA Bylaws at https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hTChVfws3VvGSUgKhIOBLU5gaqIOs2Xr/view?usp=sharing.

As an all-volunteer organization we rely on the idea that everybody steps up to take a turn at volunteering for our various positions so that we can spread these service obligations around, learn from new people in new roles, and not be reliant on the same small cast of individuals each year.  Without folks willing to donate a bit of time and effort, we would not exist.  Please let us know if you are interested.

The election for ExCom positions will be held at our Annual General Meeting & Awards Ceremony (November 16; precise location and time TBD))

Annual General Meeting & Proposed Bylaws

Our annual general meeting is coming up in a few short weeks, Saturday November 18th. This year we will be holding our meeting in a new location, we have reserved the tasting room at New District Brewing Company, 2709 S Oakland St, Arlington, VA  22206. As usual, happy hour begins at 6:00.*  Please RSVP here no later than COB on Thursday, 16 November, to ensure that we have the proper amount of food for the AGM!

At the 2016 PRSA Annual Meeting, the membership adopted a motion which directed a team of members to revise the PRSA Constitution and Bylaws and present revised governing documents to the membership at the 2017 PRSA Annual Meeting.  As a result of the revision committee’s work the PRSA Constitution and PRSA Bylaws have been consolidated into one document.  The proposed PRSA Bylaws revision will be presented for consideration and voted on at the PRSA Annual Banquet and Meeting on Saturday, November 18, 2017.  The Proposed Bylaws can be reviewed here.

Please take some time over the next few weeks to review the proposed changes. If you have questions, Jeff Neurauter and/or Adam Rosen will be happy to answer questions prior to and at the AGM.
